Current events II. - Kardashians Deny Promoting Unattainable Beauty Standards
Kardashian-Jenner family has been always known and credited for setting many beauty and fashion trends. Unfortunately, there's one thing they don't want to take credit for: the unrealistic face and body features that many people blame on social media.
During the reunion episode on Keeping up with the Kardashian, the host asked the Kardashian-Jenner family if they think that their beautiful photos and stunning bikini shots might encourage unrealistic beauty standards for other women. In response, Kim Kardashian said "No, I don't. Because I think we get up, we do the work. We work out," Kim commented about the early-morning workouts she and her sisters often post on social media.
Kardashian family have been always known for their unrealistic appearances which are supported by plastic surgeries, injections, photoshopped images, edited body shapes, and many more. Kim Kardashian's figure has been the focus of numerous discussions over the ages, such as when it was rumored that she had removed surgically her bones to obtain her waist size or the mystery behind her impossible curvaceous body shape. Even the fact that many young girls get their body or face features operated in the pattern so-cold Kardashian face/body. It is naive and unresponsible to promote something unachievable by claiming that the purpose of their look is based on their hard work in the gym.
When influencers like the Kardashian-Jenner family, promote body images on social media platforms with a significantly greater audience than a television show, these concepts become even more problematic. The issue about Kardashians is not only the unrealistic beauty standard but also the importance they create around appearance rather than personality. Setting this stigma by mostly prioritizing looks throughout their lives can lead to people associating looks and success. As result women might feel a need of achieving this appearance in terms to be successful.

You chose an interesting topic to talk about on your blog! I love this posting about the Kardashians, as I follow some of them on Instagram and if you look at their old photos, you can tell that they are not natural. I think what they might be trying to say by „not having any surgeries done“ for example on their face is that there are many non-surgical procedures they may be getting instead. They have the money to get all the procedures normal people have no access to. However, I am still of the opinion that they had more surgeries done than what they admit and they should be more open to talk about it. On the other hand, it might be a part of their strategy to be more talked about and get more attention.
