Introducing media as a creator of unrealistic beauty standards

Social media has been in our lives for the past several years. These days it is quite common for every teenager or young adult to spend at least an hour or two scrolling through social media platforms. We can assume, that many people find spending time on social media as some kind of entertainment or maybe relaxation. But have you ever wondered about how does the content that we consume on social media really affects us and especially our mental well-being? And did you know that social media can be triggering a person´s mental health without them knowing about it?

Media not only became a powerful agent in our society that can change and manipulate our perspective on many things but also can affect the way we look at ourselves. It is now a new tool that usually portrays false reality by posting photoshopped photos, idealized perfect bodies, and the skinniest models only.
